What does an ADHD Coach Do?
ADHD is a chronic disease/disorder/ailment – call it what you will, but the truth is, it doesn’t go away!
Not with medication, therapy or coaching… the fact is if you have ADHD, then it is here to stay, and anyone who tells you differently is wrong!
Working with an ADHD Coach isn’t like other coaching relationships, where you work with a coach to overcome an issue, make a change, or learn a new skill. Working with an ADHD coach is an ongoing process that forms part of a successful ADHD management plan, alongside other treatments such as medications, therapies and lifestyle changes.
Unlike traditional coaching, ADHD coaching requires specialised knowledge in executive functioning, time management, and emotional regulation. That’s why all of our coaches start with our CPD-accredited ADHD Fundamentals certification.
However, ADHD coaching doesn’t only support clients in building systems that address common ADHD challenges and make their daily lives easier; it helps unravel the stories and beliefs we tell ourselves while navigating life with undiagnosed ADHD.
Do you remember the relief you felt when you realised that your challenges are not down to a flaw in you as a person but to ADHD, or AuDHD (That is the common diagnosis of ADHD & Autism)? I do, and it was a huge relief to have an explanation!
Even though it was only the start of the journey!
This is why I believe strongly in the power of coaching.
I see people with ADHD holding themselves back from their full potential.
Living their lives based on their past, where their undiagnosed ADHD would take control, leaving them feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and wondering what the hell was wrong with them as another opportunity or idea bit the dust!
I have watched too many keep themselves small for fear of burning out, letting others down, or not following through on the task.
Coaching empowers those with ADHD to design lives that work with their brains. It gives them the self-belief and tools to utilise their many skills, work with their strengths, and live successful, fulfilled lives.
Registration is open for our ICF-accredited ADHD Foundational and ADHD Advanced Coaching certificates.
